This is a WebQuest for Poetry created in my Education Technology and Assessment class at Colorado State University.
Poetry WebQuest
This document provides a webquest for high school students to learn about and explore poetry. The webquest guides students through researching definitions of poetry, exploring different poets and poems, creating their own magnetic poem, and choosing a topic of interest in poetry to further research and present to the class. The goal is for students to gain a better understanding of poetry and spark their interest in the subject to prepare for an upcoming poetry unit.
Syllabus

ENG 102 Essay 2 - Drama Historical Studies (summer)

- After the 1905 revolution, Tsar Nicholas II offered some political concessions to appease the growing revolutionary sentiment, but these were seen as insufficient and reactive rather than voluntary. If further pressure could force more concessions, some concluded that more may bring down the entire government.
- In the aftermath, the Soviet had achieved little in terms of results. Lenin and Trotsky went back into exile believing the revolution in Russia would not occur. There was some repression with executions, which increased dramatically in subsequent years.

By 1890, Bismarck had maintained peace in Europe for nearly two decades through skillful statesmanship, but increasing tensions and his resignation weakened Germany's position as other powers sought to alter the balance of power.
Introduction to post modernism
Postmodernism is difficult to define but can be understood through three approaches: historical, stylistic, and theoretical. Historically, it emerged as a reaction against modernism and its ideals of progress, reason, and objective truth. Theoretically, thinkers like Lyotard, Baudrillard, and Jameson analyzed postmodernism's rejection of "grand narratives" and emphasis on surface and pastiche over depth. Stylistically, postmodern texts play with conventions, embrace uncertainty, and reference other works through parody and pastiche.
The crucible programme

A Christmas Carol Writing Guide
Dickens uses description of three characters - Scrooge, Fezziwig, and the Ghost of Christmas Present - to show different Victorian attitudes towards the poor. The Ghost teaches Scrooge compassion and the importance of addressing social ills like ignorance and poverty. Workhouses Are Not Nice
The 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act divided England and Wales into Poor Law Unions, each run by a locally elected Board of Guardians and funded by local poor rates. People entered workhouses because they were too poor, old, ill, or pregnant to support themselves. Life in the workhouse was harsh - inmates were separated by age and sex, uniforms were basic, punishments were used, and the daily routine focused on work and a meager diet. Many became long-term residents, and those who died received a basic burial paid for by the workhouse if family did not claim the body.
